Welcome to my new blog!

I have never done one before but everyone tells me that I have lots of things to say about lots of things – hopefully you will find it valuable and insightful, so here goes:

Many people know me as Irene Pollin, wife of Abe Pollin, with whom I  shared most of my life and together we owned the Washington Wizards basketball team, the Verizon Center sports and entertainment arena in Washington, D.C., etc.   But lots of people also know me as Irene Pollin, Founder of Sister to Sister,  the Women’s Heart Health Foundation and health professional.

I thought, through this blog, it might be fun to share some of my thoughts about the two worlds — sports and health — but also a man’s world and a woman’s world; how they intersect and how they differ. And how I have been able to manage both and, by the way, how I have loved every minute of it.
