Several weeks ago, I was in a car with a driver on my way to New York to visit family. Looking forward to spending time with them, I was in a very good mood.
This is a driver I have used several times before because he is a great driver, but also knows when to chat and when to keep quiet (which is important in that business!).
This trip, however, as we were approaching our destination he made a very interesting statement.
Of course, being from Washington, he knows of my relationship with the Wizards and suddenly he says, “Mrs. Pollin, do you know how I describe you when I tell people who I drive?”
“No, how do you?” I asked.
“Well, I tell them you were Michael Jordan’s boss.”
This struck me as pretty funny and I had to think about it for a few seconds. When I finally replied, I said, “Well, I guess I was. But I was also boss to some other super stars like Elvin Hayes, Wes Unseld and Earl Monroe.”
“But,” he replied, “they weren’t Micheal Jordan.”
He’s probably right!
Micheal, if you see this, I will have to agree.
