Recently I noticed a photo of Carl Ray on the cover of a D.C. magazine, and the publication described him as “the First Lady’s image maker.” Nothing unusual at first; then as I continued to look at it, it struck me as really odd.
Why does the First lady need a professional image maker? What was wrong with the way she was? What does she have to change and why?
My family and I had a wonderful opportunity to spend private time with her at the Verizon Center one evening in our private conference room soon after they were in office. She arrived, wearing her J. Crew outfit and she was wonderful. She was warm, delightful, and fun; we were all pleased to have this “down to earth” woman as our new First Lady.
Then what? Where did she go? Why?
Now, Hillary Clinton has had many more image makers over the years. I also met her when she was warm, delightful, and fun. Now, as her campaign moves forward, and there is not one Hillary — there are many.
I am wondering when I go to vote, which one should I be voting for?
